Defending the Capital

Preparing the Defense of Districts has some unique challenges:

• Districts contain terrains such as water, rocks and hills - something you don't have to plan for in Home Village and Builder Base.
• Be mindful of the location of Gates on your Walls. Defending troops can pass through them. Enemies cannot.
• Most Capital Defense Buildings work a bit differently from their counterparts in the Home Village and Builder Base.
• As attackers destroy Buildings, their troop deployment area will extend. Try to anticipate the order in which enemies will attack your base.

Defensive Tips

• Frost spells can be used to freeze water, creating a land path for troops!

• Jump spells can be used to make units jump over water and Walls!

• The Leader and Co-Leaders can modify Districts in the Layout Editor.
• If you modify a District's layout during a Raid Weekend, the changes will not take effect until your Clan is matched with another Clan.

Friendly Challenges are a great way to test changes to Districts. Anyone can start a Friendly Challenge when viewing a District.

At the end of the Raid Weekend, all participants receive Raid Medals for how well their Districts defended against the enemy.

• The bonus is calculated on the amount of housing space that Defenses managed to destroy.
• The Raid Medals earned from destroying enemy troops are divided between all participants.
• Destroying just one troop is enough to start accumulating the bonus.
• Districts don't need to survive the Raid Weekend for them to accumulate the Defensive bonus.
• All participants will get the same amount of Raid Medals.

To get this bonus, your Clan has to destroy at least one enemy District in the Raid against your opponent. This encourages Clans to always also attack in their Raid Weekends and not only try to defend in them.

Clans also earn Capital Trophies through their activity in Raid Weekends. The more Capital Trophies a Clan earns, the higher they will rank in the Capital Leagues. Please see here to learn more.
